How much time are you dedicating to your romantic subplot? So far I've planned one persue--reject--friendship arc, and one passionate love affair with grace consequences.
There are a few romantic subplots going on right now. I have one of the mains recovering from bad relationships and finally finding a good one. The other main is totally dense and doesn't know they are being flirted with the entire book. There's a secret relationship that is hinted at. Then there's a background relationship that comes together in the end. At this point I think I'm going to write 3 books in this series so some of the pay-off isnt until the next book.
Hinting at a secret relationship sounds fun. I imagine it would be hard to make the hints clear enough that it makes sense when it's finally revealed, but not too obvious that the other characters seem dumb for not noticing. And I love the oblivious love interest trope 🤗
