ummm,,hi. I was wondering about something, I found the first couple of paragraphs of my novel that I attempted last year and am trying to write again this year. My question is, do I have to start all over again, or can I just use those first few paragraphs? Because it's much better than what I have written..... Thank you.
Also: I apologize for the second post, I don't know why it did that. =(
Technically yeah, the challenge is to start a new novel from scratch. But we're all competing against ourselves, so it's up to each indivual as to how strict they want to be. For me, I would use the paragraphs and just not include them in my word count. If that makes tracking difficult, you could just put a note like [INSERT OPENING PARAGRAPHS HERE] and come back to them in December. P.s I'll check the ui for adding a post to see if I can fix accidental double posting in the future, sorry about that ๐
I mean, I chose a fanfiction of mine that started at 12.784 words! To stick to the challenge, of course I decided against counting all those and started the 50k count from the number I left off with.
The reason I ask is because I wrote some of the chapters down on paper. I have a lot on my plate right now and it would make it easier for me to start and work on my novel.
I, too, am writing on a novel which I already started, but I am not counting those chapters which I have already written, but those which I am writing now in hopes to get the novel finished this year ... you could just start writing, count those words, and later you just get those two parts of the story together ... that's what I'm going to do, it has worked fine for me in previous years ... I hope you get some space to take a breath, and don't be too hard on yourself ... :) ... evil
