Hi all. I've decided to abandon the word-count goal I started with and shift to time-on-task. My goal now is to spend two poms on the novel five days per week (Sunday - Saturday), whatever form "writing" takes. I have a lot of plates spinning at the moment, and trying to bring a novel into the world this month just seemed an additional, unpleasant labor. So, I'm slowing things down to get back to some source material and really savor it, and to dedicate some time to planning and plotting and thinking about character and motivations. I'm not sure if this shift is a mistake, but it feels both reasonable and compassionate.
Valid. My plans for november were also a little overambitious. How are you finding the time-on-task approach?
