For some reason today, while sitting at my desk with my computer, I put on a short film and read an old writing journal I worked on a year past. I haven't written a word in a year, and haven't tried to write any actual work of fiction for two, but I felt oddly motivated. I finished reading my notes, added a few bubbling ideas, and grabbed a new page to set pen to. I didn't actually write anything, though. Instead, I looked up images of various scenes, trying to decide what vibe my story would start with, which of the many characters I would focus on, or where I wanted to begin my story. But in my search for a library, I saw a post about some NaNoWriMo thing ending after 20 years, to writers' dismay. Curious, I looked it up, learned that it has changed names, and found my way here, some form of non-competitive November writing group. And I found it one day before the writing was meant to begin. Either it's a heck of a coincidence, so I guess I'm meant to do some writing this month. Anyways, I'm Calvin, and I hope I can find the time to participate in this. I have long been an avid reader, an inconsistent and scattered writer, and an unending creative. I'm also a skilled guitarist, a painter, a crafter; a hobbyist, really. I'm excited, and I'm very glad to have stumbled across this so timely!
Definitely a sign ๐ Welcome to the challenge, and best of luck!
