i asked in the Tools topic about everyone's preferred focus music already, but i know for me personally, my focus music and what i actually listen to in my free time are totally different genres! I like rock a lot, pretty much anything under the broad "rock" umbrella is something i'm into. my favorites though are punk rock, goth, anything experimental or genre-blending, ska, some metal, new wave, etc. however, i honestly listen to anything. i've been known to listen to some more pop-y artists, some rap, as well as plenty of indie music, and country. though generally the country artists i listen to overlap with the "alternative" umbrella, or play protest music, etc. i can't really think of a genre i truly hate. my favorite specific bands fluctuate, but currently: - will wood (and the tapeworms) (got to see them this past weekend! it was so much fun. so worth the long long drive to the venue and the long wait by the door. my friend and i scored spots right up against the stage, right in front of the drummer, which happens to be my favorite band member. awesome night. i'm still hoarse from shouting along.) - my chemical romance (seeing them next august !!!!! doesn't feel real!!!) - talking heads - depeche mode (inherited that particular part of my music taste from my mother.) - IDKHOW But They Found Me - the ruen brothers - dunno if i'd count them as a Favorite band of mine, and i certainly don't take part in the fandom (mostly cause i'm just not on twitter), but i've been really into twenty one pilots lately. My partner got me into them, and their newest album is genuinely awesome. i need to get around to listening to the rest of their discography too. got to see them in concert a few weeks ago with my younger brother! (im sure you can tell by now from this list, i'm a big concert goer. i used to pretty regularly go to small local shows, but i haven't yet found out much about the underground scene in my new city, so i haven't done that in a while.) let me know what you guys listen to! or if we share a favorite, i'd love to talk about them, lol. or if you have recommendations!

The music I listen to could be described as pretty much everything. I'd be faster to list what I don't like instead :') I don't have any specific genres, but bands and artists I favor include: -Smash into Pieces -Lindsey Stirling -Haus of Hekate -ERA -Gregorian -Blackmore's Night -Press Play And recently I've been invested with KEiiNO. Their song "Unbreakable" is my certified writing song for the month!

I highly recommend getting out of your comfort zone. I stumbled on a band called Caravan Palace and it has helped me completely shape the scenery of my book (It takes place in a circus).

Mizavia: I remember Lindsey Stirling! i used to listen to her a lottt, funny enough as like study music. I have a copy of that comic she released a few years ago, its been a while since i've thought of her. noble.ashley.j: omg what a nostalgia bomb, i forgot about caravan palace! i love themmmm i need to get back into electroswing ASAP. their music videos are so gorgeous too.

depeche mode, whoa, Spider, I listened to that some 500 years ago, when I was young ... :D ... but I really did like them back then, guess I must be around your mom's age ... I also like Gregorian and Blackmore's Night, Mizavia - just not for writing, where I prefer absolute silence ... there are even some pieces of music from Blackmore's Night which I play on the transverse flute or the piano ... :) ...

just for fun Mizavia, I'm surely not a professional, but only playing for myself ...

That's still amazing. Both are fabulous instruments

evil minded: i heard about depeche mode from my mom! she listened to them back when they were still “new,” haha. enjoy the silence is i think the first song i remember really obsessing over.
